Football Success!

Tonight, the boys football team played in the final of the City Catholic Knockout cup at Newcastle academy against art Charles Gosforth. A cagey start by both teams but we soon started to dominated the game and scored a great team goal to put us 1-0. That's how it stayed until half time. The second half started the same with us the stronger of the two teams and got a second to go 2-0 up. A soft penalty to St Charles gave them a lifeline 2-1 but St Michael's rallied and got two quick fire goals to go 4-1 up and see it out to lift the trophy for the first time ever. A fitting end to the season for this outstanding team who have produced some excellent football and teamwork throughout the season and have been a joy to coach. St Michael's best ever footballing season to date. What an achievement a league and cup double and two runners up in the Bishops cup and the Kings cup.

Well done to St Charles on reaching the final.
