A visitor in Year 2 on Science Day!

When Year 2 came to school today, they were in for a big surprise. We discovered that overnight there had been a penguin in our classroom who had left snow behind and a letter and a video for Year 2. The penguin gave us a mission to find out lots of information about trees and plants. We went on a tree and wild plant hunt to see what we could find. We then all planted our own seeds and thought about what are seeds need to grow. In the afternoon, we completed a Scientific investigation about our penguin. We investigated how penguins keep warm, we looked at using a wool glove to represent the fur, then we used a plastic one with butter to represents the blubber that arctic animals have! What a great day and we hope our penguin friend returns soon!
