Oil and Water
Science club week 3
This week we investigated what happens when oil and water are put in the same bottle. The children had to look carefully and try and explain what they saw. Did it mix? Did it stay mixed? Which liquid stayed at the top? Why? Some children used the word ‘floating’.
We then used our paper mache balloons to create a concave face. Some faces were more successful than others, but all children had fun making them. The science was an optical illusion – sometimes the face appeared convex ( lots of talk about what this meant) We will re-use the paper mache faces next week for our exciting finale.
