Y3 and Y4 Science Day
Years 3 and 4 became young scientists to take part in science week. They created static electricity to make their newts jump from the table onto a balloon to mimic the antics of Roald Dahl’s Matilda. Using the balloon and bottle tops glued to an old CD, the children made table hovercraft that glided across the desk. Lucas (year 4) said “I think the air from the balloon will push through the gap in the bottle top to lift the CD up”. Afterwards we went on a nature trail choosing from a selection of trees outside to make collages with leaves, berries and twigs. The children had fun identifying rowan, yew and cherry tree leaves.
