    Happy Half Term

    Happy Half Term

    Seeds 4 Life

    Seeds 4 Life

Today Year 4 went on a very exciting trip to Elswick park for their first Seeds4Life session. We had a fantastic morning. Firstly, we went out into the garden where we picked our own vegetables, and then planted our own seeds. We even got to eat some edible flowers. Then, we watched the process of how wheat is turned into flour, which was a little bit like magic. Finally our favourite part, we got to make a pizza which we then got to taste at the end. A great morning for Year

    Picasso Blue

    Picasso Blue

In our final Art lesson this term we looked at how Picasso used different shades of blue to paint a portrait. The children noticed the different shades in their own black and white photograph, and then used blue, black and white paint to copy Picasso’s style. The classroom was silent as everyone concentrated, looked carefully and created stunning artwork. Well done Year 1 artists!

    Girls Football

The girls football team continued their season in the prestigious Northern Cross cup tonight. In their 1st game they played a strong St Mark's team, losing a close game 1-0. Next up was St Cuthberts Kenton, leading 2-1 right up until the last kick of the game where they scored to make it 2-2. This game also doubled up in the Becky MND cup meaning the game went to penalties which St Cuthberts won 3-2 which means we now out of that cup. Finally we played a strong St Charles tea
    Hello Autumn!

    Hello Autumn!

Reception went outside to collect some autumn things in their bags. They looked for crunchy leaves, red berries and long sticks! We then stuck them down to create a leaf picture - it looks like we are blowing them into the air!
    Watching our water cycles

    Watching our water cycles

We have come to the end of our Year 4 Science topic, States of Matter. In our final lesson we looked at the water cycle and how important it is. We created our own mini water cycles that we have observed over a few days. We have started to notices little droplets which shows that evaporation and condensation have occurred!
    Relaxed Reading

    Relaxed Reading

In Year 4 today, we swapped partners and took some time to read with each other. We shared what book we were reading and what had happened so far, then we read an extract to our partner then swapped over. We loved hearing our friends read!

    Well done Boys!

The boys football team continued their season tonight playing in the Bob Maddison cup. We played Tyne View from Walker. A fantastic result of 7-1 meaning progress to the next round. Well done team!
    Maths Cops and Robbers!

    Maths Cops and Robbers!

In Maths today, we used out skills of column addition and subtraction to play a game. One person was the cop and the other the robber, the aim for the cop was to catch the robber. For the robber it was to get away. To move around the board we had to calculate the sum correctly. Great work!
