Year 1 popped into teach Year 2 everything they’ve learnt in their space topic. They told us all about the astronauts Neil Armstrong and Tim Peake. Year 2 had lots of questions and found out so much information from Year 1. They were great teachers!
This week, Year 2 have been thinking about their diets and what they need to eat in order for their diet to be healthy and balanced. The sorted different food into groups such as protein, dairy and fruit and vegetables. Here they are working in groups to create a healthy, balanced meal.
Mr Conway lead a very important assembly this morning, reminding us how to stay safe online. We were all reminded that we should never share personal information and always tell a trusted adult, what we are doing online.
The actors in the Shakespeare after school club are again showing outstanding understanding and interpretation of Shakespeare’s work. Mrs Simonson and Mrs McSherry have been amazed at their fantastic teamwork, their ability to capture quite difficult ideas, and then act these out using original Shakepeare language. Thank you to all the actors for their hard work.
On Thursday 1st February the children enjoyed an afternoon of fun games and activities at Walker Dome. They tested their balance, their throwing skills, how quickly they could jump, and much more – taking time to have a dance to the music between activities. Their behaviour, teamwork and determination was excellent and a great time was had by all. Well done, Year 1.
Y5 heard about the new coffee cups at St Michael's and were asked to design a new cup. They tested different materials to see which would be the best insulator. They measured the temperature every 2 mins for 20mins, and then at the end of the experiment decided which one would be the best insulator, for the new coffee cup. Well done!
Y1 hosted a great English Cafe this week, and recieved some fantastic feedback: "Fantastic morning" "Great morning! A very fun way to learn for the children and I can help with this at home" Thank you to all who attended.
