Year 3 had a wonderful day at the Oriental Museum in Durham yesterday to end their topic on Ancient Egypt. We had the chance to touch and smell artefacts which were up to 5000 years old and learn where they come from and what they were used for. We also got to learn about the various Gods they believed in! Next we got a chance to see an amazing Mummy which is only one of 7 in the world, which was a fantastic opportunity to have. Finally the children go the chance to act out a mummification of a Pharaoh and decide whether the Pharaoh went to Eternal Life or Duat (the Underworld)!
The children behaved impeccably throughout the day and represented St Michaels with great pride!
