Year 1 had a fantastic day at Tynemouth. The Geography focus was comparing two different local areas. The children had already looked around Cruddas Park and today they did a similar survey of traffic on Tynemouth seafront. Next we walked along to Tynemouth Priory, and our Art focus was to sketch the ruins. An extra surprise was finding Elmer – we are reading Elmer books at the moment. After that we retraced our steps to go onto the beach, where we had lots of fun working in teams to make sandcastles. As it was also National Poetry day we wrote a simple poem into the sand. We finished the day with a treat – a cookie from the café.
A huge thank you to the parents who came with us.
