Shakespeare Playmaking Festival

Huge congratulations to the children from St Michaels who joined 12 others from Newcastle schools to travel down to Stratford upon Avon to take part in the Shakespeare Playmaking Festival. The Newcastle group worked with students from Warwickshire, Nottingham, London and Cornwall to perform Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet at the Swan Theatre in Stratford. The children from St Michaels – Ruby, Alfie, Ayeza and Ibrahim- have put in many hours of rehearsals to study the script, learn lines and act with great understanding. They truly shone on the stage and the teachers who worked with them are so proud of their achievements. We hope that more children will be inspired to follow in their footsteps and join the Shakespeare After School club that will begin again next year. Also a big thank you to all the children who have taken part this year in the Shakespeare club – Mrs Simonson and Mrs Clifford think you are all amazing.
