Year 1 became scientists this afternoon. They worked scientifically to collect data to answer a question. Mrs Chapman needed to know if it was true that taller people had bigger heads. The children had lots of fun working in a team to measure then record the measurement. We then found out how tall everyone was using our class height chart. Mrs Simonson then gave the challenge – do taller people have bigger hands and feet? Again, more measuring and data recording. We found out that most children have a head measurement of between 49 and 52 cm, and that taller children did have slightly bigger heads. Great work, Year 1.
