Tonight, the boys football team played in the final of the City Catholic Knockout cup at Newcastle academy against art Charles Gosforth. A cagey start by both teams but we soon started to dominated the game and scored a great team goal to put us 1-0. That's how it stayed until half time. In our morning assembly, we shared the work which we did for Refugee Week. Year 1 and 2 drew and wrote about a special journey, Y3 and Y4 completed artwork about feelings, Y5 drew in a backpack how they would welcome a refugee and Y6 completed some art about refugees.

In the group stage they played, Our lady's St Anne's and won 4-0, next they played St George's and won 7-0 and in the last group game they beat St Oswald's Gosforth 1-0. This meant they topped the group and went into the semi-finals against St Mark's. A close game ended 0-0 meaning we went to penalties, we edged in 7-6 to move into the final against St Teresa's. Tonight, the boys played in the final of the prestigious Bishops cup. A cup competition which schools from across the Hexham and Newcastle diocese enter. The final was split into 2 groups of 3 with the winners of each group contesting the final game for the trophy. First up, we played a strong and resolute St Aloysius Hebburn team. Year 2 have been learning how to tell the time in Maths. Today we created our own clocks. We used split pins for the hour and minute hands so we could move them to the correct time.
