As part of their Science learning, Year 4 began an investigation into the effects of different liquids on egg shells. They know that egg shells are similar to tooth enamel, and they are discussing how to keep teeth healthy. After one week they will look closely at the eggs and make conclusions.
Today, Year 1 had a special delivery! It was a basket of delicious fruit from Handa. We tasted the different fruits and described them. The banana was soft, the mango was juicy, the avacado was scrumptious, the pineapple was succulent. the orange was tangy and the passion fruit was sour! 🍊🍌🥭🍍🥑
There will be a book sale at St Michael's school on Friday 29th April. We will be selling a variety of beautiful books for 50p each. If your child would like to buy a book, then please bring 50p into school on Friday.
On Tuesday, our Newcastle city winners went and competed in the county finals against the best teams from North Tyneside, Gateshead, South Tyneside and Sunderland at the Parks in North Shields. They competed very well and showed great resilience and technique throughout. We bowed out in the groups stage of a very high standard competition. Well done team you have made St Michael's proud again. Mr Gorman, Mrs Hillard and Mrs Yeoman.
We have had a fantastic morning! First, we had a special Easter liturgy reminding us to have hope this Easter time. Next, we had our Easter Raffle and we announced the winners of the Easter Egg competition. Finally, we had our Easter Variety show! Reception sang a song about our arms, Y1 danced to the Lion King, Y2 showed us some funky moves, Y3 sang a song and performed some beautiful sign language, Y4 sang a song about being the light, Y5 performed a poem and finally Y6 per
Today Year 2 have been learning about Easter Sunday and that we celebrate Jesus' resurrection and new life. We decorated a cross with tissue paper flowers to show new life and a bright future.
