Year 1 and Year 2 took part in a virtual author event with Rachel Morrisroe and Steven Lenton. We listened to their book 'How to grow a unicorn' and took part in a drawing masterclass. We all drew baby unicorns. Rachel and Steven answered our questions. What an exciting event!
As part of our Art Day, we had an assembly with local artist Jenny Ulyatt. Jenny is a watercolour artist. She came into school and lead an assembly for KS1 and KS2. She used watercolours and different materials to create 2 pieces of artwork. The art ambassadors were presented with their badges to celebrate their involvement in the art and design curriculum at St Michaels. They received them from watercolour artist Jenny Ulyatt.
Tonight, the boys football team began their Bishop Cup campaign. In their first match against a strong St Alban's team, they played some outstanding football and ran out 3-1 winners. They then played St Teresa's in their last game, again playing some outstanding football to dominate the game but conceded a late goal to lose 1-0. Tonight, the girls football team began their league campaign. Forst up was Knop Law and after a close encounter and great defending from both teams the game ended 0-0. Next, the girls played St Cuthbert's - Wallbottle. The girls played great again and started to gain confidence and a great goal from meant we ran out 1-0 winners. In their last game against a strong Throckley team, the girls defending again shone and we had chances to win the game, but it ended 0-0. Three clean
