Over the past few weeks Year 2 have been learning about why it is important that women have the vote. Today we used all that we had learnt and in small groups, we wrote speeches containing reasons women needed the vote. We also designed our own rosette int he colours that the Suffragettes used!
As part of their Science topic on Sound, Year 4 spent an enjoyable afternoon investigating which material is more effective at muffling sound. The comparative test introduced new vocabulary - particle, medium and vacuum - and was also lots of fun. The children were able to speak about sound waves and also how our ears receive and make sense of sounds. Excellent Science work, Year 4.
On Friday, we celebrated Clean Air Day! Clean Air Day is the UK's largest air pollution campaign. We made pledges to try and make our world a better place! 'I will open my windows to let clean air in' said Emily in Y2 'I will walk or bike to school instead of getting the car' said Lanica in Reception. 'I will pick up litter and put it in the bin' said Y3.
Today two of our Year 5 children received their First Holy Communion at St Michael's Church. Everyone at St Michael's is very proud of you on this special day as you show the commitment to your faith. Congratulations!
