Reception finished their topic of 'The Little Red Hen' today by making bread and cooking it on the fire! We had lots of fun making the bread and enjoyed watching it bake on the fire. Delicious!
Year 4 ended their Science topic on living things and habitats, by investigating flowering and non -flowering plants. They enjoyed learning in the Spring sunshine, collecting leaves from the school grounds and then using their questioning skills to sort the leaves. Jack said, “We collected leaves to classify them.” Nawaaz said, “We asked questions about each leaf – that had to be answered by either ‘yes’ or ‘no’” Chanel knew that we were comparing leaves.
Year 4 used the message from today's liturgy on St Joseph, to create cards with positive messages that will be sent out to the people in our Community. We said the prayer and then wrote kind and uplifting messages. We hope that our work will put a smile on someone's face.
We have had such a fun day for Red Nose Day! All of our children (and staff!) looked amazing! We dressed up as superheroes or in our own clothes and told lots of funny jokes for Comic Relief!
We gathered in the shape of the sign of the cross and lit the candle to show Jesus was with us. We then heard the Gospel story of the Prodigal Son and spoke and reflected on showing Love to everyone and even when we make the wrong choice God is always with us.
Year 2 have had a very exciting week coming back and working super hard in Maths! We have been using dice to find odd and even numbers, we have used smarties to divide by 2. We have also looked at creating equal groups and going on numicon hunts for odd and even numbers. We also had some tricky numbers given to us by the crocodile that we had to decide if they were odd or even! Year 2 are Maths superstars!
