Year 1 enjoyed a fabulous day out at Gibside on Wednesday. The sun shone all day and everyone had a brilliant time. Y3 went on a forensic mission this afternoon to Newcastle College. When they arrived, they heard the news that a teddy bear had been kidnapped! They had to find out who the culprit was! Firstly, they looked through microscopes to see if they could match the hair. Next, they went into the crime scene to gather some clues. Finally, they used chromotography to look at pen prints! Super investigating Y3!

The children practised their observational skills by drawing leaves. Look at the detail! Then they designed their ideal garden – some were formal, with straight lines and paths, some were informal with curves and different trees and plants -just like Capability Brown.
Y3 had a great morning with Miss Thompson from Sacred Heart High School. She came to teach them more about rocks, following on from their fantastic trip to Marsden. A brilliant link in partnership with Sacred Heart High School!
